About Me
I have been a free-lance commercial illustrator since 1996. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Not only does it allow me to do what I love, but it also allows me to work at home and be home as my family grows. This is a picture of me with my lovely wife Dawn, boys Joshua, Conor and Oliver, and our pug Oswald. We live in a suburb just southwest of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
My illustration process is quite different than when I first picked up an airbrush. I now draw on a Cintiq and use photoshop for rendering. Over the years I’ve also added 3D elements to compliment my vision. The first package I learned was Lightwave and now take advantage of Luxology’s Modo and Pixologic’s Zbrush. With a little effort, I hope to add animation to my services.
Photography is another creative outlet I enjoy. The digital age has made that endeavor so exciting. I first got into photography as a means to propel my illustration efforts, but more and more I’m taking pictures for the pure joy of it.
Midday while Oliver naps, one is very likely to see me biking or running, chasing the dream of one day qualifying for the ironman in Hawaii.
